What is a wellness and health panel?

A wellness panel is a series of lab tests that measure biomarkers related to general health. Wellness panels generate a comprehensive picture of your patients’ overall health, from heart function to metabolism and hormone levels. By analyzing markers in the blood, wellness tests provide in-depth data to inform patient treatment.

Wellness panels are an aspect of preventative healthcare. Therefore, they are integral to improving your patients’ long-term health. As preliminary health screenings, wellness panels are considered a part of regular blood work during annual check-ups. With a broad focus, wellness panels can act as a diagnostic tool and isolate potential health conditions early-on. Additionally, these panels provide a baseline of health. Accessible and effective, they are ideal for tracking the efficacy of treatments. Our customizable wellness panels may also offer insights into your patient’s lifestyle, including factors such as stress, diet, and sleep.

Using a single blood sample, our wellness and health panels:

  • Assist in preventative care
  • Examines whole-body health
  • Tracks effects of treatment, diet, and lifestyle

What is measured in a wellness and health panel?

Wellness and health panels cover a broad scope of biomarkers. From detecting poor diets to chronic diseases, wellness and health panels are designed to comprehensively analyze patient health. These biomarkers include hormones, vitamins and nutrients, and additional heart-specific characteristics.

Hormones

Monitoring hormone levels is key, as they play a significant role in nearly every system of the body. Wellness panels track hormones such as cortisol, which is related to stress. Elevated levels of cortisol may signal a necessary lifestyle change or treatment plan. Tracking other hormones may help with early detection of chronic conditions. Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), which is instrumental in metabolism, TSH is associated with kidney disease at elevated levels. Additional hormones, such as the sex hormones testosterone, estrogen, estradiol, and DHEA-S are related to reproductive health, energy, and mood.

Vitamins and Nutrients

Additional markers include certain vitamins and nutrients. Inexplicable symptoms or suspected deficiencies can be explored by measuring vitamin levels in the blood. Issues such as a vitamin D deficiency can be easily isolated and addressed through a wellness panel.

Heart Health Biomarkers

Our wellness and health panels also include several biomarkers that analyze heart health, including high-sensitivity c-reactive protein (CRP), a marker for inflammation, and hemoglobin A1C, which reveals blood sugar and glucose levels. Complete blood count (CBC) with white blood cell differential can likewise reveal fundamentals of heart function and immune health. As blood cell count is affected by several health conditions, CBC testing is also valuable for annual screening. Additional heart health biomarkers reveal the risk and progression of heart disease. The lipid panel provides valuable information about total cholesterol, high-density lipoproteins (HDL) and low-density lipoproteins (LDL), each of which is instrumental in heart health and wellness.

Which wellness and health panel do I need?

Access Medical Labs offers four wellness and health panels.

Wellness Basic Panel

Our wellness basic panel looks at the fundamentals of metabolic and heart health. Alongside a comprehensive metabolic panel and a test for thyroid stimulating hormone, this panel includes a lipid panel and CBC with diff. Consider this panel to establish a health and wellness baseline.

Wellness Extended Panel

Our extended panel offers a comprehensive examination of vital biomarkers, including CRP and hemoglobin A1C. This panel is designed to provide a microscopic analysis of your patients’ health, including thyroid function, level of inflammation, and risk of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, and stroke.

Male Quick Check Panel

The Male Quick Check Panel targets hormones that relate to male health and wellness. With fundamental hormones such as cortisol, free and total testosterone, DHEA-S, and estradiol, this panel is ideal for tracking energy and exploring lifestyle changes.

Female Quick Check Panel

The Female Quick Check Panel measures biomarkers essential to female health and wellness. By incorporating hormones such as progesterone, estradiol, and cortisol, this blood panel monitors general wellness as well as sexual and reproductive health.
