If you are sexually active, getting tested for STDs is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health. Screening at least once a year for syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea for all sexually active individuals is recommended by the CDC.  The CDC’s new estimates show that there are about 20 million new infections in the United States each year.  Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis are curable with antibiotics, yet most cases go undiagnosed and untreated – which can lead to severe adverse health effects that include, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth in infants, and increased HIV risk.
