Clinical Utility: Low levels of ceruloplasmin also occur in patients with hepatic insufficiency and protein loss syndrome. High levels of ceruloplasmin are observed in acute-phase reactions, during use of oral contraceptives, and with cholestase. Elevated levels are found in primary biliary cirrhosis. | |
