Collection Notes: Collect as a trough just before the next dose. Plasma should be physically separated from cells as soon as possible with a maximum limit of 2 hours from the time of collection. Centrifuge and physically separate the plasma using a plastic transfer pipette into a separate plastic transfer tube.
Clinical Utility: Digoxin levels are useful for monitoring optimal therapeutic levels and for assessing toxicity.
